Dani Sordo (Hyundai) a forcé l’allure au Rally of Sardinia by completing the 14,14km of Tergu-Osilo in 8'53''2. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) and Jari-Matti Latvala, whose Yaris WRC suffered from a rollover, were the closest with 4 seconds delay. Ott Tänak (Toyota) suit de près à 4’’7 devant Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Teemu Suninen (M-Sport), Kris Meeke (Toyota) et Elfyn Evans (M-Sport).

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) lost almost half a minute by making mistakes twice. If his mount is damaged following his exit from the road in SS6, it is the condition of the tires which poses a problem for the Belgian. The latter is the only one with Ott Tänak and Elfyn Evans to have completed the previous special which was ultimately canceled.

Dani Sordo is now alone in the lead of the Sardinia Rally with a lead of 4'7 over Ott Tänak. Teemu Suninen retains 3rd place with more than 7 seconds ahead of his teammate Elfyn Evans. Andreas Mikkelsen remains 5th with more than 3 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke. Thierry Neuville is still in 7th place with 16 seconds ahead of Esapekka Lappi. The classification remains provisional due to the cancellation of SS7.
