Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) a sauvé de justesse sa deuxième position au Rally of Sweden at the end of Vargasen (SS14) after giving up 5 seconds to Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) and almost 7 seconds to Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) despite a spin from the latter. The Belgian was the closest to the reference signed by Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) in 8'20''1 at the end of the 14,21km, even if the six-time champion WRC got a fright when he brushed against a tree.

Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) was going to take the scratch until he spun. After hitting a tree, the Finn was able to limit his delay to 42 seconds but the rollbar of his Ford could have been hit.
