Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) follows more than 5 seconds behind, while his teammate Pontus Tidemand was able to regain pace by clocking in at 9 seconds. Kris Meeke (Toyota) follows 11 seconds ahead of his teammate Ott Tänak and Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai).

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) was the big loser from its position as opener since it failed almost half a minute from the benchmark. The six-time champion WRC ranked 14 seconds behind Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) which suffered again in these conditions.

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) lost more than half a minute in the special after spinning and suffering a brief exit from the road, failing just behind Esapekka Lappi (Citroën). His Hyundai bears the marks of off-road excursions on the front left.

Jari-Matti Latvala took the lead in Rally Sweden by less than 2 seconds over his compatriot Teemu Suninen. Ott Tänak lost a place with a similar delay to the M-Sport driver. Andreas Mikkelsen climbs into 4th position with around ten seconds ahead of Kris Meeke who also gains 3 places. Thierry Neuville falls to 6th place and is only 3 tenths ahead of Sébastien Ogier. Elfyn Evans moved up to 8th place, 2 seconds behind the Frenchman, with a lead of more than 5 seconds over Esapekka Lappi. Sébastien Loeb finds himself 10th, maintaining an 18-second lead over Pontus Tidemand.

Ole Christian Veiby (Volkswagen) remains at the head of WRC 2 in 12th place in the general classification ahead of Johan Kristoffersson (Volkswagen) and Mads Ostberg (Citroën), still leader of WRC 2 Pro.
