Note that Kevin Magnussen offers the first points to the Haas F1 Team this season with his 9th place. The strategy of stopping before the start to put on slick tires paid off for Günther Steiner's men.
Lance Stroll (Racing Point) finished 4th ahead of Alex Albon (Red Bull). Followed by Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), Sergio Pérez (Racing Point), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault), Kevin Magnussen (Haas) and Carlos Sainz (McLaren).
Impeccable victory for Lewis Hamilton ahead of Max Verstappen, who came back from hell after his lap error to rejoin the grid. Valtteri Bottas completes the podium. This is Hamilton's 8th success in Hungary, which allows him to equal Michael Schumacher on the number of victories in the same event.
Seven tenths between Bottas and Verstappen. There's one round left!
Interesting statistic: Hamilton led more laps in Hungary than the entire grid combined. This shows the Briton's control over the event since his debut in F1.
A successful bet for the Briton who got the best lap time in the race.
1'17″497 for Hamilton on his last pass!
Less than 2″ between Bottas and Verstappen. The duo, thanks to Hamilton's stop, returned to 5″ behind the leader.
Bottas is back to 2″3 behind Verstappen, but the task seems difficult for the Finn.
Alex Albon (Red Bull) took the advantage over Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) for 5th place, in the 2nd turn.
This time, Mercedes is preparing to welcome Hamilton. Soft tires for the Briton after a stop which will not be the fastest of the year. But Hamilton will be able to get the best lap time.
There are five laps remaining in this 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix.
“The balance is nowhere, I really struggle. » Charles Leclerc does not hide his frustration on Ferrari radio.
We thought Hamilton was going to stop with the Mercedes mechanics in place in the pit lane, but the world champion team revised its plans at the last moment.
