Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) set the provisional best time by completing the 24,14km of El Montmell, the last special of the first pass of the second stage of the Rally de Catalunya, in 12'27''3. The Championship leader has taken 6 seconds from Dani Sordo (Hyundai) while Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) follows almost 8 seconds behind, one second ahead of Kris Meeke (Citroën). Éric Camilli (Ford) finished 11”26 behind the provisional benchmark, 5”2 behind his teammate Mads Ostberg.

Dani Sordo only has a 7''7 lead over Sébastien Ogier at the top of the RACC at midday. Andreas Mikkelsen still completes the provisional podium ahead of the Hyundais of Thierry Neuville and Hayden Paddon. Kris Meeke is 6th ahead of Mads Ostberg, Ott Tänak (Ford) and Éric Camilli.

Camilli set the 8th provisional time, 26″5 from the provisional scratch and 2″6 behind his teammate Ostberg.
