Behind Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) who seems doomed to stay outside the Top 10 on a regular basis, Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) remains at the head of WRC 2, now 15 seconds ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda). Petter Solberg (Volkswagen) took 4th position from Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Ford), but the three-time world champion remains more than a minute from the provisional podium in the category, still completed by Nil Solans (Ford).
Tänak also did not perform miracles in the rain, failing a dozen seconds from the benchmark. The Estonian remains 8th, 22 seconds behind his teammate Lappi. “I spun in the special. I think my title chances are over. »
Latvala is now in the lead with 7s ahead of Ogier. Loeb follows in 3rd place ahead of Evans and Neuville who is only 14s from the head of the race.
The award falls for Sordo 22s behind his teammate Neuville. The Spaniard fell to 6th place, 3″6 behind the Belgian in the general classification. “The stage was really muddy. »
Sordo is 21s behind his teammate Neuville at the last score.
Sordo risks losing a lot of time in this SS. The Hyundai driver is the slowest with almost 18 seconds behind towards the end of the course.
Evans finished 8″5 behind Neuville, 6 tenths ahead of Latvala and 3 seconds ahead of Loeb. The Welshman is 1″3 behind Loeb in the general classification. “I thought I would do better. »
Sordo is behind with 7s behind Loeb and 17s behind Ogier in the 5th partial!
Loeb ranks 11″5 from the provisional scratch. The Citroën driver gave way to Ogier for a delay of 2″7. “It was pretty wet, there was too much rain for the tires to work. » The Alsatian had chosen to take the soft tires.
The last drivers to start in the leading group were slowed down by the return of the rain, which explains (at least in part) the gaps.
Evans has a 1″5 lead over Loeb in the 4th split.
Latvala fails more than 9s behind Neuville. Ogier is back to just over 7s from the lead of the race. “It was really muddy. I was too careful because Tänak had a puncture in this SS. I didn't ride well. »
Latvala is now ahead of Loeb by almost 3s on the 5th lap. The Alsatian is 9s behind his compatriot Ogier.
Loeb is now 6 tenths behind Latvala and more than 7 seconds behind Ogier in the 4th sector.
Mikkelsen finished 21s behind his teammate Neuville. Not enough to move him up the hierarchy. “I felt like it was getting worse in the special. They weren't the best tires here, but we all would have gone with the same ones if we'd known. » The Norwegian chose rain tires.
Loeb came back to within a tenth of Latvala in the next sector but is now more than 6s behind Ogier.
Loeb is 3″2 behind Latvala at the 2nd intermediate and more than 5 seconds behind Ogier. Evans also seems faster than the Citroën driver in the first km.
Ogier limits his delay to 9 tenths at the finish line. Neuville is less than 7 seconds behind the M-Sport driver who remains 5th. “It was a difficult passage. We trusted our weather service but there was no rain this afternoon. That’s how it is, we are a team. »
