Ott Tänak (Ford) signed the provisional scratch in SS14 of the Sardinia Rally by completing the 28,52km of Monti di Ala' in 16'48''1 with a 3''5 lead over Jari-Matti Latvala ( Toyota). Mads Ostberg (Ford) gave up 6s to Sébastien Ogier (Ford) who finished more than 8s behind the benchmark.

Ott Tänak currently has a 20s lead over Jari-Matti Latvala. Thierry Neuville remains isolated in 4th position, preceding the Toyotas of Juho Hänninen and Esapekka Lappi. Sébastien Ogier remains 6th with almost 17 seconds ahead of Mads Ostberg.

Neuville finished 8 tenths behind Tänak and protected his 3rd place well without being under pressure. “It was a good stage. I took 2 wheels to play it safe. I saved some tires for tomorrow's Power Stage. We could have been in the lead without the mechanical problems, but it is what it is and I have to be satisfied with what I have. »

Tänak takes the provisional scratch with a time of 16’48″1, 3″5 better than Latvala. The Estonian now has a 20s lead over the Finn. “I tried to ride cleanly. We can't do anything with this timing thing, we have to do our best. »
