Ogier: “Last night it seemed like people had doubts, but for now I'm controlling my risks. You need very precise driving between the mountains and the stones, but at least no cuts where there is a risk of puncture. »

Meet at 9:05 p.m. for the start of SS16.

The general classification after SS15:

Kalle Rovanperä signs at the exact same time as Elfyn Evans! Sébastien Ogier is still ahead in the 3rd intermediate.

Rovanperä: “I am not fully satisfied. I did this stage last year and I wasn't in the rhythm, so it was definitely not easy now to gain momentum. It's going to be a long day for the tires too. I just tried to keep a good pace safely. »

08h

In the 2nd intermediate, Sébastien Ogier is 7 tenths ahead of Kalle Rovanperä.

08h

Thierry Neuville concedes time to the Welshman: the Hyundai driver loses 2″4 on this SS15 but still maintains a good lead of 22 seconds over Elfyn Evans overall.

Neuville: “We had a spin in the first corner and something is wrong with the hybrid. There is confusion on the maps. »

08h

New best time for Elfyn Evans, who clocked 12'20″6. The Welshman will try to put pressure on Thierry Neuville for the podium.

Evans: “I really focus on my own performance. We're just trying to do what we can and we'll see what happens. »

08h

5″5 behind for Ott Tänak on this 15th special. The Estonian doesn't have much left to play for overall, except the Power Stage for the championship.

Tanak: “I'm just passing through at the moment. It's very hard on the tires. »

08h

Takamoto Katsuta concluded the special 4″4 behind Dani Sordo’s time.

Katsuta: “The feeling is good. I'm trying to manage my tires a bit and we'll see what we can do in the next three stages. “

08h

Dani Sordo took a penalty for a stolen start! The Spaniard, although ahead by 5″0 at the finish, received a 10-second penalty and therefore conceded 5″0 to Esapekka Lappi on this special. The Finn takes the lead overall.

Sordo: “It wasn't my fault. They need to check the cameras because it wasn't my fault. I didn't know what time I had to leave. »

08h

It was beaten by Esapekka Lappi who finished the special in 12'35″2. The Finn will try to seek 7th place overall against Dani Sordo.

Lappi: “I don’t have confidence, I don’t know why. I can't push like yesterday, it's just not possible. »

08h

Jourdain Serderidis crossed the line with a better time than the Frenchman, in 13'40″9.

08h

At the end of a very quiet special, Pierre-Louis Loubet established an initial benchmark in 14'16″4.

On arrival, the Frenchman indicates that he no longer has a handbrake…

Loubet: “We drove very slowly to save the tires for the Power Stage. We don't have a handbrake but we will try to do our best. I think we'll have to backtrack in the Turini at least once, that's for sure. »

A quick update on the general classification on this Monte-Carlo Rally before the arrival of this SS15:

08h

It's Esapekka Lappi's turn to set off on this first stage of the day.

08h

Pierre-Louis Loubet drives at a very leisurely pace on this SS15, since the objective is obviously to score points on Power Stage, the last special of the rally.

The Corsican therefore preserves his tires for SS18.
