Rally of Catalonia 2019
Ostberg is still leading the WRC 2 Pro with a good lead over the Skodas of Kopecky and Rovanperä.
Dani Sordo (Hyundai) once again signed the scratch by completing the 16,35km of Riudecanyes, SS16 of the Rally of Catalonia, with more than a second ahead of Ott Tänak (Toyota). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) followed more than 2 seconds behind, preceding Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Kris Meeke (Toyota), Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport).
Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) was a little further behind with 6 seconds behind, but it was again Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) who was the slowest with almost 7 seconds behind despite new adjustments to his differential .
Thierry Neuville will enter the Power Stage with a lead of 15”2 over Dani Sordo who now has a 5”8 lead over Ott Tänak. Sébastien Loeb remains 4th with another 9”4 ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Elfyn Evans remains 6th ahead of his teammate Teemu Suninen and Sébastien Ogier.
Neuville ranks 2″3 behind his teammate Sordo and maintains a lead of 15″2 over the Spaniard before the Power Stage. “I rode well but Dani was very fast. We'll keep the pace for the Power Stage. »
Sordo responds to Tänak by ahead of him by 1″3. The Hyundai driver has a 5″8 lead over the Estonian before the Power Stage. “It’s good but the rally is not over yet. I thank the team because the car is very good. »
Tänak keeps the pace with a 2″ lead over Evans. The Toyota driver keeps the pressure on. " I feel good. The car runs well. It's pretty special to arrive at the Power Stage in this situation, but we have to stay focused. »
Loeb finished 7 tenths behind Latvala and thus retained a 9″ lead over the Finn before the last SS. “We adjusted the differential. It's not perfect yet but it's getting better. »
Latvala signs the 5th fastest time, 2″4 behind the provisional benchmark. The Toyota driver is aiming for 4th place from Loeb. “It was better than the first pass, but I still lost a little time, especially at the start of the special where it is fast. »

Suninen ranks just over a second behind Ogier. The M-Sport driver still occupies 7th place.

Ogier finished 8 tenths behind Meeke while waiting for the Power Stage. “We had to make changes because it wasn't working for the Power Stage but we have other problems now. »
Katsuta ranks 7s behind Meeke. The Japanese remains at the depths of the ranking. “We're making good progress but I had a lot of understeer here. Maybe it's due to my driving. »
Meeke sets a time of 10'15″2, almost 2 seconds behind Neuville's scratch achieved earlier. “The conditions are good. »
Meeke got back on the road in the second passage of Riudecanyes. Neuville was the fastest, completing the 16,35km in 10'13″5.
