Ott Tänak (Ford) signed a new scratch by winning the Clocaenog special, 17th SS of Wales Rally GB, 7,7km long, completed by the Dmack driver in 4'19''0. Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) was the closest and only returned 6 tenths to the Estonian. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and his teammate Hayden Paddon achieved the same time, finishing 2”3 behind the benchmark.
Sébastien Ogier maintains a lead of more than 33 seconds over Ott Tänak. Thierry Neuville still has a 12”6 lead over Hayden Paddon.
Ogier drops 6 tenths to Tänak. No worries for the leader who maintains a lead of 33″2. “It’s very slippery this morning. I have to stay careful to aim for victory. »
Tänak took the scratch with a time of 4'19″0 where he was ahead of Mikkelsen by 8 tenths. “It’s a great performance. We're never satisfied with being 2nd but we have to stay focused. »
The first crews will embark on the 7,93km of Brenig.
Neuville achieves the same time as Paddon. The New Zealander's delay on the Belgian is 12″6.
Paddon leads Meeke by 2 tenths. The Hyundai driver is 4th. “I’m trying to be more aggressive…”
Meeke signs the 3rd provisional time, 1″7 behind Mikkelsen and 7 tenths behind Latvala. The Citroën driver is 5th.
Sordo sets the 4th provisional time, 3″3 behind Mikkelsen and 4 tenths behind Camilli. The Spaniard occupies 6th place. “We barely changed the settings. I had a lot of grip in the special. I don't know if the conditions will be tougher in the second passage. »
Ostberg drops 6″6 to Latvala who is only 6 tenths from 7th place. “It was quite slippery. My start wasn't great, I was a little too careful. »
Latvala finished one second behind Mikkelsen. The Finn is aiming for 7th place in Ostberg. “That’s our goal today. »
Lefebvre only finished 2″7 behind Mikkelsen. The Citroën driver occupies 9th place with a good lead over Camilli. “It’s very muddy. The grip is constantly changing. I still felt good behind the wheel. »
Camilli ranks 7″2 behind Mikkelsen. The M-Sport driver is 10th. “I felt pretty good behind the wheel, even if we could go faster in certain corners. It's part of learning. »

Bertelli ranks one second behind Al Rajhi. The Italian is ranked 15th and confirms the impressions of the first drivers.
