Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) took the scratch in SS2 of the German Rally. The Belgian completed the 19,44km of Stein und Wein in 10'40''4, almost 2 seconds ahead of Ott Tänak (Toyota). Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) followed more than 3 seconds behind, complaining of significant understeer on his C3 WRC.

Kris Meeke (Toyota) followed 5 seconds ahead of his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) failed more than 7 seconds ahead of Esapekka Lappi (Citroën), Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Gus Greensmith (M-Sport). Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) failed at 43 seconds.

Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) stopped in the stage for an unknown reason. The Finn misses on arrival.

Thierry Neuville takes the lead of the Rally Germany by 7 tenths ahead of Ott Tänak. Sébastien Ogier remains 3rd with 2”2 ahead of Kris Meeke. Jari-Matti Latvala follows in 6th place ahead of Dani Sordo and Esapekka Lappi. Andreas Mikkelsen and Gus Greensmith complete the first WRC group. Takamoto Katsuta is at the foot of the Top 10 completed by Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) fighting for victory in the WRC 2 Pro.
