The crews will hit the road again tomorrow with three stages completed twice on the program. The stage will start at 8:51 a.m. with the 26,72km from Vitrolles – Oze.

Ogier (M-Sport) returns to service with a lead of 17″3 over Mikkelsen (Hyundai). Sordo (Hyundai) follows in 3rd place at 25”6, ahead of Lappi (Toyota) by a dozen seconds. Tänak (Toyota) completes the top five, 42 seconds from the head of the race, preceding his teammate Latvala, 55”4 from the lead. Breen (Citroën) is the first driver more than a minute behind. Bouffier (M-Sport) is in 8th place, almost 2 minutes behind the leader, ahead of Meeke (Citroën) Evans (M-Sport) and Neuville (Hyundai) remain several minutes behind following their misadventures in SS1.

Bouffier is the slowest of the WRC drivers at the finish, falling 35 seconds behind Ogier's scratch. “It was very complicated but the car is fantastic. You have to learn to manage the power, you can get out quickly, but it works pretty well. »

Mikkelsen finished 9″6 behind Ogier. “There was a lot of dirt on the road. I am quite satisfied with the result. The rally is still long and we don't know what the weather will be like. » The Norwegian is in 2nd place in the general classification, 17″3 behind the leader.

Breen achieves a similar time to his teammate Meeke, only 3 tenths ahead of him. The Irishman lost time by spinning out even though he thought his car was performing well in these conditions. He is 52s from the lead of the race.

Sordo signs the 4th provisional time, 5″9 behind Ogier. “It was very complicated in the first special with the ice but we got through the first stage. It's positive. » The Spaniard is 25″6 behind the leader of the general classification.

Evans finished more than 24 seconds behind the provisional scratch. The Welshman has already lost more than 3 minutes in the first SS following his puncture. “I had to proceed carefully because I no longer had a spare tire. I wasn't happy with the car either. » The M-Sport driver is more than 4 minutes behind his teammate Ogier in the general classification, only 5″3 ahead of Neuville.

Latvala is the slowest among those at the finish but the Toyota driver only drops 6″5 to Ogier. “It’s a very difficult start to the event. I lost a lot of time in the icy sector of the first SS, notably spinning twice because my super soft tires were too cold. » The Finn is 55”4 behind Ogier in the general classification, 13s behind his new teammate Tänak.

Ogier is currently the fastest in the first partial, having a few tenths ahead of Neuville and Tänak. The gaps seem to be smaller on this route.

In WRC 2, Camilli (Ford) leads with almost 22 seconds ahead of Kopecky (Skoda). Suninen (Ford) follows at 24”2. In the RC2 category, Sarrazin (Skoda) occupies 2nd place, 19″9 behind Camilli.

Neuville and Tänak also started SS2. The Belgian is more than 4 minutes from the lead of the race following his exit from the road in the first special.

Ogier set off in the second special of the first stage. As a reminder, he has more than 7 seconds ahead of Mikkelsen, his closest opponent.

The crews are preparing to compete in the 25,49km Bayons – Breziers 1 from 22:51 p.m. The start of the special is very quick and continues with a series of hairpins up to the top of the Col des Sagnes. The descent then passes through the villages of Turriers and Bellafaire and ends with a more technical portion.
