Rally Estonia 2022
A few dozen minutes after Pierre-Louis Loubet (M-Sport Ford), Malcolm Wilson's team suffered another loss with the abandonment of Gus Greensmith at the start of the third stage of the 2022 Estonian Rally. The Briton, unlike to the Frenchman, did not hit any rock, but the Ford Puma hybrid suffered an irreparable transmission failure.
In this special, a corner trapped several competitors such as Adrien Fourmaux (M-Sport Ford), Elfyn Evans (Toyota) and especially Oliver Solberg (Hyundai). The three drivers were able to leave, losing a few seconds:
Biiig moment at the end of SS20 👀 happy to have survived that! It's tricky today with the cleaning – only one car in front and they're taking it very easy so there's a lot of sweeping this morning. But we continue to work on the feeling 💪 @OfficialWRC pic.twitter.com/MieIMjIrSq

Kalle Rovanperä almost got surprised in the same place but finished with the best time, tied with Ott Tänak!
In the same corner as Solberg and Fourmaux, Elfyn Evans spun! The Welshman was able to leave without switching off his engine, the Toyota losing a handful of seconds.
Thierry Neuville finished with the 2nd time, 1″5 behind Katsuta. “I was careful because I have no grip. It's hard to go fast. »
Takamoto Katsuta continues to distance himself from Adrien Fourmaux. He finished 5″5 ahead of the Frenchman on this special and now has a 12″9 margin in 5th place.
Adrien Fourmaux finished with the 2nd best provisional time, 3″5 behind Esapekka Lappi. “I went wide in a turn, but I had seen some off-piste trajectories, probably Solberg! »
Gus Greensmith is heading straight for retirement! The English driver suffered a serious transmission failure and does not think he will be able to repair the problem by the finish!
The first special on Sunday at the 2022 Rally Estonia, contested at 5:48 a.m. this morning, was fatal to Pierre-Louis Loubet and Vincent Landais (M-Sport Ford). The French crew retired after hitting a rock hidden in a bend.
Pierre-Louis Loubet and Vincent Landais occupied eighth place in this event. They let their teammates Gus Greensmith and Jonas Andersson take their positions. This retirement allows Teemu Suninen (Hyundai) to enter the top 10. No other change in the general classification is to be reported.
