In the Junior WRC, Simone Tempstini took the provisional best time in 5'15″1 and is ahead of Juuso Nordgren by seven tenths. Veiby is 3rd at 4″7 and sees Tempestini come back at 9″8 overall for victory in the category.

In WRC-2, the best time in the ES provisionally went to Pontus Tidemand (Skoda) ahead of Elfyn Evans (Ford Fiesta R5) at 2″ and Suninen at 4″2. Karl Kruuda (Ford Fiesta R5) follows at 4″7 ahead of Esapekka Lappi (Skoda) who does not seem to be forcing himself and is at 8″5.
Dramatic twist in the fight for the podium in Finland. Having returned to 4″8 behind Craig Breen (DS3) after SS21, Ott Tänak (Ford) made a mistake on the first pass in Oittila, which will serve as the Power Stage at the conclusion of this Rally Finland.
The SS went to the Hyundai i20 of Thierry Neuville, who was ahead of his teammate Hayden Paddon by 1″3 and Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) by 3″5. Mads Ostberg (Ford) and Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) complete the top 5 of the special ahead of Kris Meeke (DS3) who leads the event.
The Briton remains in control with a 34″5 lead over Latvala, while Craig Breen is rid of the Tänak threat for third place, but sees Neuville return to 6″6. Paddon did not give up all hope of a podium by being 2″2 behind his teammate at Hyundai. Ostberg and Mikkelsen follow in the standings ahead of the Skoda Fabia R5 of Esapekka Lappi and Teemu Suninen.
Meeke continues to perform with the leading DS3. 4'50" for the Briton and provisional 6th place in the ES. The Abu Dhabi Racing driver maintains a 34″ lead before the second pass in today's special stages in Finland.

It is indeed Craig Breen who arrives at the stop point with his DS3, and who confirms the exit of Ott Tänak. The Irishman finished the SS in 4'52″6, 7″9 behind Neuville.
Ott Tänak apparently came out after a crest and got stuck in a ditch.
Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) beats Paddon's time in 4'44″7 and regains some air overall on Paddon with a 2″4 lead over the New Zealander.
