Mads Ostberg (Citroën) is leading the WRC 2 Pro with around ten seconds ahead of Kalle Rivanperä (Skoda) while playing on the outskirts of the Top 10.

After taking advantage of the interruption of SS2 at the Chile Rally to conserve his tires, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) took the scratch in the 22,26km Espiago special. The Belgian completed the last course of the first passage in 14'23''7 with 2 tenths ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota), while Ott Tänak (Toyota) followed 7 tenths behind.

Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) finished less than 4 seconds ahead of his compatriot Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) by more than 7 seconds. Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) followed 14 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke (Toyota). The gaps are larger behind with Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) failing around half a minute behind. Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) dropped 40 seconds.

Ott Tänak returns to service with a lead of 6 seconds over Sébastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville. Jari-Matti Latvala climbs to 4th place, 6 seconds behind the Belgian, ahead of Kris Meeke by almost 15 seconds. Elfyn Evans remains 6th, less than 2 seconds behind the Northern Irishman. Sébastien Loeb remains 7th ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen Teemu Suninen and Esapekka Lappi.

Loeb remained in the match by setting the 5th provisional time, 11 seconds behind his teammate Neuville. The nine-time WRC champion remains 7th, coming back to less than 9s from Evans. “I was pretty clean, without making any mistakes. The rhythm is correct. »

Neuville seems to have received his fixed time for SS2. Credited with the 3rd time of the special, 6″6 behind Tänak’s scratch, the Hyundai driver appears in 3rd position in the general classification, 4″4 behind Ogier and 7″3 behind the leader of the event. The Belgian would also have a 5″1 lead over Meeke.

Neuville should start at any moment in the 22,26km Espigado special. The Belgian's position is still not known, with the championship leader having to wait for a fixed time to be allocated in SS2.
