The general classification after SS3:
A messy driving experience, a few scares and in the end 33″4 behind Evans at the finish. Oliver Solberg will have to raise his level of play…
Craig Breen: “It was absolutely magnificent, breathtaking! I definitely didn't ride as well as I would have liked but it didn't matter, I enjoyed it so much."
The leader of the general classification does not shy away from his pleasure.
Gus Greensmith loses 7″3 and falls back into line after his magnificent performance in SS2.
Never two without three, Craig Breen sets a tenth the same time as Tänak and Rovanperä! 3 different cars set the same time at the end of 31 km of special.
Takamoto Katsuta loses another 31 seconds on this special. The Japanese driver is struggling to find his rhythm.
Thierry Neuville: “Just a spin 4 corners from the finish of the special… There was a jump and some water, I lost the rear and stalled. I don't think there's any major damage, I wasn't going very fast."
Elfyn Evans took the best time in 17'33″0.
Thierry Neuville lost control of his Hyundai! After a pause he was able to resume his journey but lost 14 seconds in the incident.
17'34″3 for Tänak! This is exactly the same time as Kalle Rovanperä who did a very good special in these particularly delicate conditions.
Kalle Rovanperä completed the 31,48 km of this third special in 17'34″3. Tänak is only 1″5 ahead at the last intermediate!
The differences are stable at the second intermediate. Tänak maintains a 2″ lead while Thierry Neuville seems to be on the pace and only gives up 7 seconds to the Estonian.
2″3 taken by Tänak on the first intermediate. Kalle Rovanperä is still undergoing his role as opener…
The rain seems to have stopped but the roads remain particularly wet while Ott Tänak takes the start of the special.
Kalle Rovanperä sets off on SS3, let's go for this third stage of the New Zealand Rally!
