Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) took the scratch in SS8 of the Sardinia Rally by completing the 14,14km of Tergu-Osilo in 8'53''5 with a four-tenths lead over Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) . Toyota drivers Ott Tänak and Jari-Matti Latvala followed a few tenths ahead of Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota). Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) marks the break in the WRC group with more than nine seconds behind the benchmark, preceding the Citroëns of Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg.

Sébastien Ogier maintains a lead of 10”5 over Thierry Neuville. Ott Tänak remains on the provisional podium less than six seconds behind the Belgian, preceding the Finns Teemu Suninen, Jar-Matti Latvala and Esapekka Lappi grouped in less than seven seconds. Mads Ostberg is in seventh place with only three tenths ahead of Hayden Paddon who precedes Craig Breen.

Paddon sets the 8th time, more than 9 seconds behind his teammate Neuville. The New Zealander remains 8th but is only 3 tenths behind Ostberg.
