After moving level with Elfyn Evans (Ford) in SS7, Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) managed to beat the leader of the general classification on the 23,85 km of SS8 between Santa Rosa and San Agustin.

The New Zealander is ahead of Evans by 4″ and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) by 7″1. In the general classification, Evans increases his lead to 52″8 over Mads Ostberg (Ford), 5th in SS8 at 9″1 after encountering some brake problems.

Third place now goes to Neuville, at 1'02″6, who took advantage of the puncture of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) in this sector. The Finn did not stop to change his wheel, and conceded 34″6 on Paddon.

The former Volkswagen driver fell to sixth place behind Sébastien Ogier (Ford), fourth, 4″6 behind Neuville, Tänak (Ford), fifth, 1″9 behind Ogier, and who also suffered a puncture on this special.
