Rally Sweden 2020
Elfyn Evans (Toyota) almost lost everything a few turns from the end of the seventh special stage at the 2020 Rally Sweden. Going wide after a poorly negotiated turn, the Welshman narrowly missed going off the road. This did not prevent him from setting a new scratch time, enough to allow him to increase his lead to 16″9 over Elfyn Evans!
A new crossover took place in the fight between Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) and Sébastien Ogier (Toyota). The Frenchman gave up his third place in the general classification after the time of the young 19-year-old driver. The six-time champion is 1″3 behind.
The current leaders of the world championship, Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul (Hyundai), conceded precious time against Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm (Ford). The Finns go into the lunch break almost 5″ ahead in fifth place.
