If Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) posted a very good performance in SS9 at Ässämäki at the Rally Finland, it was Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) who took the scratch with half a second ahead of his compatriot. Kris Meeke (Toyota) and Ott Tänak (Toyota) followed by more than a second, preceding Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). The Belgian beat his teammates Andreas Mikkelsen and Craig Breen further back on this course. The Fords of Teemu Suninen and Gus Greensmith remain the least efficient.

Jari-Matti Latvala now has a 1''1 lead over Esapekka Lappi who takes second place alone ahead of Kris Meeke and Ott Tänak grouped in a tenth. Craig Breen maintains 5th place for one second ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen while Sébastien Ogier is also one second behind the Norwegian. If the Top 7 is grouped in less than 16 seconds, Thierry Neuville is further away, preceding the Fords of Teemu Suninen and Gus Greensmith.

Breen remains slightly behind with the 8th time, 3″1 behind Latvala’s scratch. The Irishman drops 8 tenths to his teammate Mikkelsen who is one second behind 5th place.

Greensmith remains the slowest with 11 seconds behind. The path of the cross continues for M-Sport.

Latvala responds to Lappi half a second ahead of his compatriot. The Citroën driver remains closest to the leader with 1″1 behind. Meeke and Tänak follow at a second.

Lappi almost rolled over when going wide in a corner, but the Finn was able to continue to take the provisional scratch with 9 tenths ahead of Meeke. Can the Citroën driver take the lead in the rally?

Mikkelsen only set the 5th fastest time despite being only 9 tenths behind. The Hyundai driver drops 3 tenths to Ogier who is 1″2 behind in 6th position.

Meeke takes the provisional scratch for a tenth ahead of his teammate Tänak. This is also the overall gap between the two Toyota drivers.
