Monte-Carlo Rally 2021
This is the end of SS9. Meet at 12:08 p.m. to follow the third and final special this Saturday at Monte-Carlo
The special for Neuville, Ogier saves his day
Snow, a frozen road… the ingredients were there for an SS9 full of emotions. Well she kept her promises. If Thierry Neuville took the scratch with a time of 16'28″3, it was the other big names who animated the special.
Ott Tänak suffered another puncture and this time lost more than eight minutes on the lead and is now 9'46″7 behind Sébastien Ogier. The latter experienced a rather calm special. Lacking grip, the Frenchman was content to hold on and let 42″6 slip on Thierry Neuville at the finish, without consequence.
The classification of SS9
A windfall that even Elfyn Evans, runner-up to Sébastien Ogier, did not benefit from. On the contrary, the Welshman even finished further than the Frenchman, losing almost four seconds overall. From now on, the Toyota driver is 14″3 behind his teammate.
SS10 is scheduled for 12:08 p.m.
