Kalle Rovenperä won this 9th special in style and took control of the rally.
Ott Tänak remains in ambush at 4″6 ahead of Sébastien Ogier at 6″5. Nothing is decided except for Elfyn Evans who loses any chance of a regular victory.
SS9 ranking:
General Classification after SS9:
Elfyn Evans loses more than 35 seconds. The Toyota is very severely affected…
Very good weather from Sébastien Ogier, 2″5 from Rovanperä! “Better special for us than the first.”
Kalle Rovanperä improves Breen's mark by 1″8. “We really attacked in that one. I made a few mistakes and I could have been even faster but that’s okay, I’m happy with our performance.” The Championship Leader is on another planet today.
The leader of the rally, Elfyn Evans, hit from the first kilometers of the special! It leaves after a few seconds of immobilization.
Here we go for Sébastien Ogier and Benjamin Veillas!
Kalle Rovanperä continues her effort.
Kalle Rovanperä passed the second intermediate which marks the first third of the special in Breen's time! He has the opportunity to perform very well overall but the special is still long...
18″7 late at the finish for Thierry Neuville. “It’s not okay, we have a technical problem. We’ll see to the audience.”
25″6 behind for Oliver Solberg is a second per kilometer deficit on Craig Breen. “I have understeer, I have absolutely no confidence”
Katsuta finished 15″5 behind Breen. Still no click for the Japanese driver. Thierry Neuville started.
Takamoto Katsuta and Oliver Solberg are in the special and already behind Breen. The Ford driver is in good shape today!
12’39″3 for Craig Breen, first reference time. “It’s really very tricky, much more so than SS8. We have a good position at the start, that’s something.”
More than 180 km/h on these dirty and wet roads, these drivers are truly exceptional!
Takamoto Katsuta starts.
Craig Breen, feeling confident after his victory in SS8, sets off on SS9.
Rain for everyone, it should be harder for the Ford driver who will have to sweep the road for his little comrades.
