24 Hours of Le Mans 2021
Here are the category results. As a reminder, the first 6 cars are qualified for the Hyper Pole which will take place this Thursday at 21:30 p.m.
Unsurprisingly, it goes for all the Hypercars with the No. 7 Toyota in the lead thanks to a time of 3'26″279. In LMP2, JOTA saw the No. 38 pass, which finished first in the category, but not the No. 28 which failed 5 thousandths behind 6th, returning to the No. 23 from United Autosports. In GTE Pro, the No. 52 and No. 51 Ferraris defeated the No. 92 Porsche. However, this does not work for the No. 79 Porsche and the No. 63 Corvette. In GTE Am, Porsche took the first two places thanks to the No. 88 of Dempsey-Proton Racing and the No. 86 of GR Racing
The checkered flag is waved. The final times are currently underway and the final results will soon be available
No. 32 and No. 23 correct things somewhat and temporarily return to 5th and 6th
With five minutes to go, United Autosports is in danger since Tom Blomqvist has just set the 5th provisional time with the No. 28 JOTA. As a result, the No. 32 and No. 23 of the British-American team are 6th and 7th respectively. There are only 5 minutes left. Attention !
Here is a slow motion of Paul Loup Chatin's exit from the track at the start of the session. The car has since been returned to the team which is already working towards the next tests and especially the race
That's a big shunt for @paulloup_chatin and @IDECSportRacing at the exit of Tertre Rouge. Driver is out of the car and ok, session under FCY.#WEC # LeMans24 pic.twitter.com/eug3vLriEG

Only 10 minutes left before the end of these qualifications
After causing a yellow flag on the descent of the Esses, the No. 488 Ferrari 85 returns to the track. The entire circuit is under green flag now
In LMP2, the No. 38 of JOTA Sport remains in the lead ahead of the No. 41 of Team WRT and the No. 65 of Panis Racing. In GTE Pro, AF Corse passed Porsche thanks to Miguel Molina's 4'46″011 in the No. 488 Ferrari 52. In GTE Am, Dempsey-Proton Racing with its No. 911 88 leads in front of the No. 86 of GR Racing.
Nothing moves in Hypercar. The No. 7 Toyota remains in the lead ahead ofAlpine A480 and N°8. Following behind are the two 007 Glickenhaus with N°709 in front of N°708
It's tight in LMP2 since there are only 8 tenths between the No. 38 of JOTA Sport and the No. 48 of IDEC Sport, currently 10th in the provisional standings.
It's the turn of the No. 38 from JOTA Sport to temporarily settle at the top of the LMP2 timesheet. With António Félix da Costa at the wheel, the British entity's Oreca 07 crossed the line in 3'29″144
There will be no Hyper Pole for the IDEC Sport Oreca 07 No. 48. A time third, the machine left the Top 6 putting, unsurprisingly, an end to the hopes of pole at Le Mans
End of the yellow flag at Le Mans
And a first record has already fallen. This is the fastest lap in GTE Pro. Previously owned by Gianmaria Bruni, it is now in the hands of Frenchman Kevin Estre. Still at the wheel of a Porsche 911 RSR, the No. 92, the official driver of the German manufacturer clocked 3'46"779 compared to 3'47"504 for his Italian counterpart. Alessandro Pier Guidi (Ferrari 488 No. 51) also beat Bruni's mark with a lap of 3'47″192
In LMP2, the No. 07 Oreca 41 of Team WRT took the lead thanks to Robert Kubica. The Pole, present for the first time in Sarthe, stopped his time in 3'29″441
Yellow flag waved in the Esses de la Foret. Paul Dalla Lana, driver of the No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, lost control and ended his race in the gravel. The track marshals intervene to clear his car as quickly as possible
No improvement for the Toyota No.7 in this last attempt. Kamui Kobayashi finishes more than three seconds behind his best time
In GTE Pro it's already going faster than at the start of the day (around 3 seconds difference). The official team's No. 911 Porsche 91 RSR is currently in the lead ahead of its sister, the No. 92, with a lap time of 3'46"779. In GTE Am, the No. 86 Porsche from GR Racing is in control with a time of 3'49″100 ahead of the No. 99 from Proton Competition
Before making a mistake, Paul Loup Chatin had the opportunity to record the third provisional time in LMP2 with a lap of 3'30″166. It remains to be seen if this will be enough to qualify for the Hyper Pole because the No. 07 Oreca 48 from IDEC Sport will not start again.
