Lewis Hamilton is on provisional pole ahead of Sebastian Vettel by 88 thousandths. But the real 2nd place is held by Valtteri Bottas, at 119 thousandths. Kimi Räikkönen is actually 3rd at 457 thousandths.

As a reminder, even if Sebastian Vettel sets the best time, he will only start 4th due to his penalty. Ferrari's hopes therefore rest on the Finn.  

The Mercedes set off again for the final minutes of Q2, on ultra-soft tires, like Sebastian Vettel. Their goal is to get their bearings for Q3 rather than improve their time.  

Carlos Sainz Jr (Renault) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas) are in a delicate position, just like Toro Rosso and Max Verstappen, but these last three competitors will not produce any effort in this Q2.

There will be a strategic gap at Ferrari. Kimi Räikkönen completed his time on ultra-soft tires while Sebastian Vettel made do with super-soft tires.

The Ferraris beat Valtteri Bottas by more than a second! The Briton will make a second attempt as the Scuderia calls its drivers back to the pits. Let us point out that the drivers will have to start the Grand Prix with the tires used during this Q2, so they should not be overused.

Only the ten best drivers will be able to advance to Q3.
