Max Verstappen signs the 4th pole position of his career, the first in Bahrain!
Verstappen's slap at Mercedes. Pole position for the Red Bull driver in 1'28″997. Hamilton finished 2nd, almost 4 tenths behind the Dutchman! Bottas is 3rd ahead of Leclerc and Gasly. Ricciardo, Norris and Sainz follow. For his return to F1, Alonso is content with 9th position just ahead of Stroll

Very lively end of Q2 and quite a few surprises at the end. To start, Ferrari set the best times with Sainz ahead of Leclerc. Third time for Hamilton ahead of Norris and Bottas. 6th under the checkered flag, Ricciardo is ahead of Verstappen, Gasly, Alonso and Stroll. Big disappointment on the other hand for Pérez 11th and eliminated at the gates of Q3. Giovinazzi, Tsunoda, Räikkönen and Russell are the other four drivers eliminated
No Q3 for Tsunoda who was trapped by coming out with the mediums
1'30″513 for Gasly who moves into the provisional Top 5
