Grosjean » It was an interesting qualifying since we made a bold choice by qualifying for Q3 with the softs. It was more complicated in the last session because the temperature dropped and I had no grip. We will have things to play for tomorrow because Sainz Jr will start in front of us with super soft tires. »

Leclerc: “I made a mistake by forgetting to activate the push. And I made a mistake in turn 4. Maybe I could have gained a position or two but it's not bad. »

Vettel: “I looked at the standings on the tower and saw my name was not at the top. We're not really surprised, we understood that the Mercedes would be quick here. »

Hamilton took the 74th pole of his F1 career. His last one was at the Australian GP.

Hamilton takes pole at the Spanish GP. Mercedes monopolizes the front row with Bottas 2nd ahead of the Ferraris of Vettel and Räikkönen. The Red Bulls are in 3rd row with Verstappen preceding Ricciardo. Magnussen is in 7th place ahead of Alonso, Sainz Jr and Grosjean.

Vettel can only take 3rd place with a tenth behind. The Ferrari driver was racing on soft tyres.

New lap record for Hamilton with a time of 1'16"173. Bottas fails by 4 hundredths.

Räikkönen climbs to 2nd place, one tenth from Hamilton.

Hamilton keeps the super soft tires for his second attempt.

Ricciardo came out of the pits with a set of soft tires.

Grosjean does not improve in his 2nd attempt. The Haas driver is less than a tenth behind Räikkönen who made a mistake in the first corner.

The Ferraris missed their first attempt. Vettel is only 5th, 7 tenths behind Hamilton while Räikkönen is in 7th place behind Alonso. Grosjean is 8th ahead of Sainz Jr and Magnussen.

Hamilton sets the benchmark in 1'16"491 and is 3 tenths ahead of the Red Bulls of Verstappen and Ricciardo. Bottas follows in 4th place ahead of Alonso.

Ricciardo signs a first reference in 1'16"8. Verstappen improves by 4 hundredths.

Hamilton is ahead of Vettel in the first sector with 4 tenths ahead of the Ferrari.

All the drivers have now taken to the track. Alonso and Bottas are the last to start.

The last qualifying session starts for 12 minutes. Grosjean and Sainz Jr are the first to return to the track.
