Bottas improves to 1'27″376, but Hamilton crushes the competition in 1'26″600! Räikkönen (Ferrari) fails at 0″547, when Vettel (Ferrari) points at 0″756. 67th pole position for the three-time British world champion.
Investigation opened between Hamilton (Mercedes) and Grosjean (Haas), the Frenchman having complained of possible discomfort from the Briton during his first attempt.
Grosjean complains of being hampered by a Mercedes during his fast lap.
After these first attempts, Hamilton is ahead of Vettel, Bottas, Räikkönen, Verstappen, Hülkenberg, Pérez, Ocon, Grosjean, Vandoorne.
It's the Ferrari's turn to complete this first salvo: Vettel comes second in 1'27″430, when Räikkönen takes fourth place behind Bottas. Nico Hülkenberg (Renault) climbs to fifth position, but is beaten by Max Verstappen (Red Bull).
Pérez (Force India) beats Ocon's time by two tenths.
1'27″580 for Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) but the Finn was beaten by Hamilton in 1'27″231. Ocon (Force India) gives up more than 2″2
Start of Q3. The two Mercedes immediately took to the track. The Ferraris waited a few moments before following the W08s.

The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas dominated the second part of qualifying for the British Grand Prix, the Briton completing a lap in 1'27"893. Note that the Finn from the star brand, who will be penalized by five places on the grid tomorrow after a gearbox change, will start on soft tires, unlike his rivals.
The two Ferraris of Vettel and Räikkönen follow in the Q2 standings ahead of Hülkenberg (Renault), Verstappen (Red Bull), Ocon (Force India), Pérez (Force India), Grosjean (Haas) and Vandoorne (McLaren) who beats for first time of the year his teammate Fernando Alonso in the exercise.
Palmer (Renault), Kvyat (Toro Rosso), Alonso (McLaren), Sainz (Toro Rosso) and Massa (Williams) are eliminated at the end of this Q2.
Sixth provisional time for Ocon (Force India) 0″723 behind Vettel. Romain Grosjean (Haas) moves up to seventh position. Hülkenberg (Renault) pushes the two French people back one place with the fourth time, 1″4 behind Vettel.
1'28″992 for Räikkönen (Ferrari) who took the best time, immediately beaten by Vettel (Ferrari) in 1'28″978.
1'29″431 for Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who climbs into second position. 334 thousandths from Hamilton.
Ninth provisional time for Romain Grosjean (Haas) who leaves the elimination zone.
Pérez (Force India), Grosjean (Haas), Palmer (Renault), Massa (Williams) and Sainz (Toro Rosso) are currently eliminated.
Vettel (Ferrari) complains on the radio about Pérez (Force India) who allegedly hindered him in a fast lap.
On super-soft tires, another lap in 1'29"097 for Hamilton (Mercedes) who pushes Bottas (Mercedes) back to 0"590!
