Qualifying will resume this Thursday, June 15 with two sessions scheduled between 19 p.m. and 21 p.m. then from 22 p.m. to midnight.
End of the first qualifying session at Le Mans and Toyota takes provisional pole position in 3'18"793, thanks to Kamui Kobayashi and the no. 050 TS7. Matthieu Vaxivière places the #07 TDS Racing Oreca 28 at the top of the LM P2 category. Aston Martin with the No. 95 Vantage of Sorensen – Thiim – Stanaway dominates the GTE Pro, and the British brand also takes the best provisional time in GTE Am with the No. 98 Vantage of Lamy – Dalla Lana – Lauda.
Lots of movement in the LM P2 category, since in quick succession, Bruno Senna (Oreca 07 n°31 Vaillante Rebellion) then Matthieu Vaxivière (Oreca 07 n°28 TDS Racing) took first place in the provisional ranking. Vaxivière clocked 3’29”333 compared to 3’29”851 for Ayrton Senna’s nephew.
Change of leader in LM P2 as the No. 07 CEFC Manor Racing Oreca 25 of Vitaly Petrov took the best time in 3'30″502, 345 thousandths ahead of the No. 24 sister car of Vergne – Graves – Hirschi who had been leading the debates in the category for several minutes.
The Team Manager of the Dutch team is also summoned to the stewards.
On the Larbre side, the Corvette C7R occupies 5th place in the GTE Am category with Philippon at the wheel to complete the laps and gain experience. The No. 98 Aston Martin of Lauda remains at the top of the class ahead of the No. 77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche of Ried, the Aston Martin TF Sport of Yoluc and the No. 83 DH Racing Ferrari of Jonsson.
The #217 Dallara P 29 of Racing Team Nederland moves slowly in the Dunlop Chicane sector with Jan Lammers at the wheel.
3’31”945 for the No. 07 G-Drive Racing Oreca 26 of Roman Rusinov, which is now in seventh position in LM P2.
It was Müller who took over from Hand in the No. 68 Ford GT. American cars remain behind in this session.
Despite Pla's move to the No. 66 Ford GT, the latter still only occupies 51st place, more than 4 seconds behind the GTE Pro benchmark.
Spin for the #217 Ligier JS P49 of ARC Bratislava at Tertre Rouge. The LM P2 is stopped at the side of the track and the double yellow flags are displayed.
It is now Pilet who takes over in the No. 91 Porsche previously driven by Lietz. The 911 RSR occupies 7th place in the GTE Pro.

Jean-Eric Vergne, author of the provisional pole in LM P2, returns to the seat of the No. 07 CEFC Manor Racing Oreca 24.
Bruno Senna allows the No. 07 Vaillante Rebellion Oreca 31 to move up to ninth position in LM P2 after a final run in 3’32”626.
Werner takes over from Christensen in the #92 Porsche, still 5th in GTE Pro.

Very little improvement for several minutes in the prototypes. The latest are the Ligier JS P217 n°49 ARC Bratislava and n°45 Algarve Pro Racing in LM P2, the two prototypes operating outside the top 10 in the category.

The Tockwith Motorsports Ligier JS P217, in Gulf colors, manages to reach the pits, after a slow lap.
The Dallara P217 of Racing Team Nederland of Barrichello – Van Eerd – Lammers is the best representative of the Italian clan in LM P2, positioning itself ninth in the category in 3’33”796. The reference time in LM P2 remains in the possession of the No. 07 CEFC Manor Racing Oreca 24 of Vergne – Hirschi – Graves.
