Rally Finland 2019

The second stage of the Rally Finland will be made up of 8 special stages for a total of 132km timed. The day should start at 7:08 a.m. French time.

Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) masters his subject in WRC 2 Pro by moving to 11th place in the general classification with half a minute ahead of Pierre-Louis Loubet (Skoda), also well established at the head of WRC 2. Éric Camilli is a good distance from the head of the category as he debuts the new Fiesta R5.

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) once again took the scratch in the 2,31km Harju super special which concluded the first stage of the Rally Finland. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Kris Meeke (Toyota) were closest by half a second. Ott Tänak (Toyota) followed 8 tenths behind Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Esapekka Lappi (Citroën), Craig Breen (Hyundai), Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport).

Jari-Matti Latvala maintains the lead of the event with 1”2 ahead of Kris Meeke. Esapekka Lappi remains on the provisional podium 2''4 from the lead of the race for 2 tenths ahead of Ott Tänak. Craig Breen maintains his 5th place with 4 tenths ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen and a second over Sébastien Ogier (penalty not confirmed at the moment). Thierry Neuville remains in 8th place ahead of the Fords of Teemu Suninen and Gus Greensmith.

Latvala settles for 8th fastest time, 1″3 behind Neuville’s scratch. By dropping 8 tenths to Meeke, the Finn maintained a lead of 1″2 over his teammate at the end of the first stage. “I am very happy with what we have accomplished so far. We made a few small mistakes. »

Meeke is closest to Neuville with half a second behind, tied with Ogier. “It couldn’t be better with this car in these stages. We all give our best. »

Lappi sets the 6th fastest time, 1″2 behind Neuville. The Citroën driver drops 4 tenths to Tänak but maintains the advantage over the Estonian by 2 tenths.

Tänak sets the 3rd time, 8 tenths behind Neuville's provisional reference. The Estonian is in 4th place, 3″1 from the head of the race. “The day was good but the afternoon was very frustrating. We will see tomorrow. »

Breen fails 1″2 behind his teammate Neuville and 2 tenths behind Mikkelsen who is 4 tenths behind the Irishman who remains in 5th place.

Loubet finished one second behind Huttunen and returned to service with a lead of almost 50 seconds over Gryazin. “Everything went well today. The car is very pleasant to drive. »

Gryazin failed 3 tenths behind Katsuta and only retains 2nd place in WRC 2 Pro for only a tenth ahead of the Japanese.
