Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) scored his second scratch at Rally Mexico by winning the 4km Street Stage Leon SS1,11. With a time of 1'04''9, the Norwegian was 4 tenths ahead of his teammate Dani Sordo. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) followed 9 tenths behind. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) followed in 5th place ahead of Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Ott Tänak (Toyota), Kris Meeke (Toyota) and Esapekka Lappi (Citroën).
Andreas Mikkelsen returns to service with a 1''6 lead over Sébastien Ogier. Dani Sordo is one second behind the Citroën driver. Elfyn Evans maintains 4th place with 1”5 ahead of Kris Meeke. Jari-Matti Latvala remains 6th ahead of Esapekka Lappi, Ott Tänak and Thierry Neuville.
Sordo is closest to Mikkelsen with 4 tenths behind, gaining half a second from Ogier. The Spaniard is one second behind Ogier overall.
Neuville: “It was clearly not a good morning. It was complicated with the running order. I couldn't avoid this stone (in SS2) and we had this slow puncture. »
Latvala finished 9 tenths behind Mikkelsen, equalizing Ogier's time. The Toyota driver has a little more than 3 seconds lead over Lappi overall.
Mikkelsen is the only one to beat Ogier at the moment. The Hyundai driver improves the benchmark by 9 tenths and is now ahead of the Frenchman by 1″6.
Evans takes the 3rd time, 3 tenths behind Ogier. The M-Sport driver is 8s behind the Frenchman in the general classification.
Lappi is the slowest with 9 tenths behind his teammate Ogier. The Finn is around 20s behind the leader of the race.
Meeke is the slowest with 6 tenths behind Ogier. The Toyota driver remains less than 10 seconds behind the Frenchman overall.
Ogier is ahead of Neuville by 2 tenths. The Citroën driver is fighting for the lead of the rally against Mikkelsen.
Neuville improves Tänak’s time by 3 tenths. The Hyundai driver had a difficult morning with his puncture costing him around 40s.
It's a time of 1'06″3 for the championship leader who suffered this morning when opening the road.
The drivers are preparing to compete in the 1,11km Leon super special, the last route of the morning. Tänak is the first to set off.
