Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) scores his first scratch at the Rally of Chile by completing the 2,2km Concepcion super special stage held in town on asphalt in 2'06''9. His teammate Thierry Neuville was the closest with 6 tenths behind. Kris Meeke (Toyota) followed at 2 seconds just ahead of Sébastien Ogier (Citroën), Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota), Ott Tänak (Toyota), Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Esapekka Lappi (Citroën ) and Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) who made a slight error in a donut.

At the end of the super special closing the first stage of the Rally Chile, Ott Tänak has a 22s lead over Sébastien Ogier. Jari-Matti Latvala retains 4rd place for 3 tenths ahead of Thierry Neuville. Kris Meeke remains 7th with 5”2 ahead of Sébastien Loeb. Elfyn Evans remains 2th ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen who takes 7th place from Teemu Suninen for a second lead. Esapekka Lappi still completes the Top 8.

Suninen failed more than 5 seconds behind Loeb after making a slight mistake on a donut. The Alsatian thus signs his first scratch in this event. “Even the last stage was not good for us. It was a difficult day. »

Loeb signs the provisional scratch 6 tenths ahead of his teammate Neuville. The nine-time WRC champion came back to 2″2 behind Meeke. “We really enjoyed making these donuts, it was like in the video games. »

Latvala signs the 4th fastest time, 1″7 behind Neuville’s provisional scratch. The Toyota driver maintains 3rd position for 7 tenths ahead of the Belgian. “I am very disappointed with my mistake in the last SS because the positions on the road will be very important tomorrow. I wanted to improve my pace in the super special. It's getting better but it's still not enough. »

Mikkelsen ranks 2″5 from the provisional reference. The Hyundai driver is battling with Suninen for 8th place.

Evans is the slowest with 2″4 behind Neuville. The M-Sport driver is in 7th place, around ten seconds behind Loeb. “We plan to be in the fight tomorrow because we didn't think we'd lose so much time today. »
