Rally Mexico 2019
The second stage of Rally Mexico is scheduled to start at 15:23 p.m.
ari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) joined the list of retirements in the first stage of the Rally Mexico. The Finn encountered a mechanical problem with his Yaris WRC as he was ready to set off on the two-run, 2,33km V-Power Shell Stage. He was in 4th place in the general classification.
Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) took advantage of the super special to consolidate his lead over Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), notably by signing the scratch on the first pass. The six-time WRC champion now has a lead of nearly 15 seconds over the Welshman, still closely followed by Kris Meeke (Toyota).
Ott Tänak (Toyota) took advantage of his Finnish teammate's problems to climb to 4th place after overtaking Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) with a 2 second lead. The Finn will, however, have the advantage of position on the road for the second stage, the positions being fixed at the end of the Las Minas special (SS7).
Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) completes the WRC rankings in 6th place. Despite his bad day, the Belgian will have a better position on the road this Saturday.
Tänak managed to take 4th position at Lappi for a 2s lead, but the Citroën driver will have an advantage on the road, the positions being fixed at the end of the Las Minas special (SS7).
The images of Latvala forced to push his Toyota out of the special, the Yaris being broken down.
