Moto3 world champion in 2021 and Moto2 in 2023, Pedro Acosta (GasGas Factory Racing Tech3) is preparing to take a step forward, as the young Spaniard will make his debut in MotoGP during the Qatar Grand Prix next March.

If success has smiled upon him twice in the space of three seasons, the KTM rider knows he is capable of working with a bike that is not the most competitive.

“Before Moto2, I didn't know what it was like to arrive in a championship, and not be competitive, explains the 19-year-old pilot in an interview broadcast on MotoGP.com. I never had to learn to work to raise my level during a bad season.

I have no expectations, because expectations bring pressure, He continues. If you're under pressure you make stupid mistakes, and you don't learn. If you don't learn you don't improve and ultimately you can go home.

For sure it's the biggest transition, you go from child to young adult, and I know I have a lot to learn before being competitive, but I'm going to try to be calm and concentrate on achieving it” Acosta concludes.

During the pre-season tests which took place on the Ricardo Tormo circuit on November 28, the number 31 has already tested the bike he will ride under the colors of GasGas next year, as well as his first fall in the premier category.
