Acosta looking for victory at Assen? “I prepared a lot”

Pedro Acosta ready for the Assen Grand Prix - Gasgas Tech3

After three weeks of absence, the pilots of MotoGP have recharged their batteries and are preparing to compete in the last two events of this first part of the season, starting with the Assen Grand Prix (June 28-30). The race in the Netherlands presents itself as the pre- last opportunity for Pedro Acosta to become the youngest winner in MotoGP history.

If the young rookie has the habit of not focusing on precocity records, but rather on his performances on the track, the numerous top-3s that he achieved during the first seven meetings of 2024 show that he is getting closer to this first success.

Building on a successful Italian Grand Prix, the Spaniard will therefore arrive at Assen with this possibility in the back of his mind, reinvigorated by a three-week break forced by the postponement of the Kazakhstan GP.

“It’s finally the return to competition for us, welcomes Acosta on the sidelines of the event. These long breaks are useful for disconnecting and training hard. But I miss the race a lot and I can't wait for the one that's coming. I have been working hard for the two upcoming events. I have prepared a lot even though after this it will already be the start of the summer holidays. »

The Assen circuit is a track that Pedro Acosta particularly likes. He was also on the podium last year during the Moto2 Grand Prix, alongside Ai Ogura and Jake Dixon.

“Assen is a circuit that I really like, with a beautiful track. There is a spectacular atmosphere there, and we can achieve great things there, He continues. We'll see how we feel on Friday and Saturday, and how the weekend progresses. Little by little, I am adapting better to the bike. My performances are consistent with this progression. I'm starting to get pretty good on Saturday.

I am more than impatient to discover the cathedral of speed. I’m also looking forward to the surprises that Motul, our main sponsor, has in store for us there” Acosta concludes.

So there will be plenty of reasons to follow the Tech3 rider's MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix. The events of the meeting will take place at 15:00 p.m. for the Sprint, and at 14:00 p.m. on Sunday, for the main race.
