Which rider to complete the 2025 MotoGP grid with Yamaha?

There is now only one position left to fill in MotoGP for the 2025 season. The transfer market, which began to stir at the end of May, will soon no longer host any announcements regarding the 22 starters who will make up the next starting grid for the discipline.

The last contract that remains to be sealed concerns the Pramac Racing team, which was also the last not to have made any drivers official, before signing Miguel Oliveira at the beginning of September.

The reigning champion team has been one of the causes behind many moves this year, as it has chosen to divorce from Ducati, after more than twenty years of partnership, to join the ranks of Yamaha, as a new satellite team.

Many names were mentioned to complete the Yamaha line-up, and if there was no longer any doubt that Miguel Oliveira was preparing to join the project, the name of his future teammate was still rather vague a few weeks ago.

Jack Miller to complete the puzzle

While three Moto2 riders have made their promotion to the premier class official next year, three current riders will have to sacrifice their places. Among them, we already know that Alex Espargaro and Takaaki Nakagami will leave the discipline. Jack Miller (KTM) and Augusto Fernández (Tech3) therefore represent the only two riders on the 2024 grid who do not yet have an agreement.

The situation has now settled down and it seems very likely that both will join the Iwata factory in 2025. Fernandez is currently expected to complete the Test team, which could also include a certain Andrea Dovizioso, who has been very active with the brand in recent weeks.

Jack Miller, for his part, should be the twenty-second driver to have a full-time contract in 2025, joining Miguel Oliveira at Pramac Racing where he will have the latest version of the M1, which will also be driven by fabio quartararo and Alex Rins.

A choice based above all on experience, the Australian having played for three different brands since the start of his MotoGP career in 2015. Miller has also already served the interests of Pramac Racing in the past, having raced there under the Ducati banner between 2018 and 2020.
