During the official Valencia test, Diogo Moreira completed his first laps on a motorcycle. MotoGPHaving secured a seat in the premier class, alongside Johann Zarco in the Honda LCR team next year, the young Brazilian was, to say the least, surprised by his discovery.

Having won the Moto2 title a few days earlier, the rider who chose number 11 to enter the big leagues described the major differences between riding a MotoGP bike and a machine from the feeder series at the end of the day's riding.

"It was very impressive," Diogo Moreira told the media present in Valencia, including AUTOhebdo. The speed and the brakes are very different from Moto2. I'm happy with this first contact with the bike, but also with the team. They've helped me a lot these past few days and during the test. Now we have to get to know the bike and enjoy it. We're having a lot of fun, and it has to stay that way.

Nevertheless, where Diogo Moreira was most surprised was when he discovered the sensations of riding when the MotoGP bikes reach their top speeds.

He pursues : "The most impressive thing is the speed. Ultimately, when I floor it coming out of the last corner and shift gears down the straight, it's a feeling I've never experienced in my life. Happy with this first day, but I need to keep improving."

His next MotoGP ride will take place next January at Sepang (Malaysia). He will participate in the Shakedown (January 29, 30, and 31), reserved for Tier D factory riders, test riders, and rookies. This will be followed by three days of pre-season testing at the same circuit. Until then, Diogo Moreira knows what he needs to focus on in his understanding of the bike.

“We’ve learned quite a lot about the bike. It’s just different in the way you take the lines and recover the bike. We still need to understand quite a lot at that level.” We just need to learn in general. In corner entries, but also in exits. he concluded.
