This season, Ducati once again imposed its will in MotoGPThe Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer secured all three titles: Constructors', Riders', and Teams'. This triple crown marks the third time in its history, following 2007 and 2022. The Constructors' title was won for the sixth consecutive time. The staggering statistics of this campaign deserve to be highlighted.
In 2025, Ducati secured 17 victories and 44 podium finishes. This was the manufacturer's second-best season, after 2024 (19 victories and 53 podium finishes). Regarding the record, the Italian factory has only two fewer podium finishes than last year (19). In total, four different riders won races on the Desmosedici GP this year: Marc Márquez (11), Pecco Bagnaia (2), Fermín Aldeguer (1), and Álex Márquez (3). Mid-summer, Ducati was truly propelled by the exploits of the Spanish champion, who remained undefeated for seven Grands Prix between Aragon and the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Ducati hasn't missed a single podium finish this season either. But this streak began well before the start of the year. In total, Bologna has reached the podium in 88 consecutive races. This means that since the 2021 Aragon GP, at least one Ducati rider has finished in the top three in every race. An absolute record in MotoGP. The six riders who have raced a Desmosedici GP (two in the factory team, and two in each of the satellite teams, VR46 and Gresini Racing) this year have reached the podium more than once during the season.
Behind the figures, Ducati is struggling
Behind these figures lie some disappointing performances. Ducati was challenged by other manufacturers more than ever before. A historic streak even came to an end this year. In qualifying, the Ducatis failed to secure a front-row start at the Australian Grand Prix. This was the first time this had happened since the 2020 European Grand Prix, ending a run of 98 consecutive front-row starts. That day also marked the first time no Ducati had qualified in the top five since the 2019 Japanese Grand Prix. This was repeated later at the Portuguese Grand Prix.
Beyond this figure, Borgo Panigale is seeing its rivals closing in. While Ducati has had its second-best season ever, Aprilia has simply had its best season in MotoGP. Where the Italian factory dominated with 13 podium finishes last year, it has only managed 9 this year, often overtaken by Pedro Acosta's KTM at the end of the season. The tide seems to be turning in favor of the competition, and the 2026 season promises to be exciting.
