This Sunday morning, Ducati wanted to make a statement at its home Grand Prix. After Marc Márquez's victory in the sprint race this Saturday, which came at the cost of an easy comeback by the Spaniard after a poor start, the Italian manufacturer naturally wanted to repeat its performance, if not improve upon it, by placing its two factory riders in the top two places today.
Marc Márquez and Francesco Bagnaia were chosen to unveil their team's special livery this Sunday morning. They appeared in Florence's most prestigious venues to showcase Ducati's nod to Italy's rich history. “This is a tribute to the Renaissance. That Italian blend of art and ingenuity. The story of two gentlemen who became modern knights. Their armor, their mounts… It’s a tribute to centuries of Italian art and technology.” can be read on the presentation video published on social networks.

In a context where Marc Márquez once again appears untouchable this weekend, despite a poor start, but easily caught by the Spaniard, Francesco Bagnaia appears able to step up his game. A three-time winner at Mugello, the local rider had already shown signs of renewed energy and a better understanding of his bike in Aragon during the last event. To complete this special weekend, the two-time world champion will have to succeed in the challenge of surpassing Álex Márquez at least, and thus offer his team a one-two this Sunday.
Behind the reds, the competition does not appear fierce, since despite the good surprises offered by KTM at the start of the weekend, Ducati's speed still seems to remain unrivaled in race pace, and on long runs more generally.
