Fermín Aldeguer did it. At the end of the 27-lap race of the Indonesian Grand Prix in MotoGPThe Spaniard crossed the checkered flag first, with a whopping eight seconds over Pedro Acosta. He thus became the first rookie to win in MotoGP since Jorge Martin in 2021. His victory, at 20 years and 183 days, is the youngest by a rider in the premier class since Marc Márquez's victory at the 2013 Grand Prix of the Americas.
Quickly propelled into the lead by a successful start, the Gresini rider established himself as the day's favorite, given the retirements of Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Márquez. Twenty-four hours after suffering a slight disappointment in the Sprint, when the Aprilia rider deprived him of victory on the last lap, Fermín Aldeguer can finally celebrate.
“I can’t believe it! I’m so happy, he confides in the Parc Fermé. I have a lot of thanks to give. My friends, my family, Gresini… As a rookie, the work we do is incredible. And even before this race. Now we have to keep going like this, and above all, not let up. We want even more success."
After securing his first podium at the French Grand Prix, and a fine second place in Hungary, the number 54 joins the winners' circle in the premier class, and proves to Ducati that he too deserves an official bike in 2026.
