Things looked complicated after the qualifying session, as Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) started the Qatar Grand Prix in tenth position, six places behind his main rival for the title, Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna).
The Spaniard, however, fulfilled his part of the contract this Sunday and continued the maneuvers to achieve his tenth career victory at the wire. Result which forced the Japanese to finish in the first four to maintain his hopes of being crowned, however the n°71 finished the event in sixth position.

With the lead of the native of Algemesí (Spain) being increased to 28 units while 25 are still in play, the 23-year-old driver wins his first world championship title.
David Alonso (Aspar) and Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) complete the podium, close behind the number 5, the first mentioned therefore maintains its chances of winning second place in the championship.
During the last weekend of competition of this 2023 season, Jaume Masia will race at home with less weight on his shoulders. After Pedro Acosta's Moto2 title in Malaysia, only the name of the MotoGP world champion will not yet be known when he arrives in Valencia.
