After missing several Grands Prix due to a broken collarbone sustained in the sprint at the Japanese Grand Prix, Jorge Martín successfully passed his medical examination on Thursday in Valencia. The Aprilia rider, who has missed 14 rounds this season, was determined to return to the track for the final race of the 2025 season at the Ricardo Tormo circuit.

Nevertheless, he announced at the start of the weekend that the Valencia Grand Prix would only be a test session for him. The rider, who will be racing with the number 1 for the last time this weekend, is not yet fully recovered from his injuries, as he confided to the media present in Valencia on Thursday: I can't give you a figure, but I'm far from 100%. The main objective will therefore be to rediscover the feeling of riding the RS-GP, on the sidelines of Tuesday's official test.

"Good, I feel good. Glad to be here with you all, really," continues the person concerned. For the last time this year. It's been a shitty year, sorry for the language, but I wanted to put it behind me. I didn't want to stay home waiting until February to recover. Obviously, I arrived as fit as I could be. I worked really hard to be here this weekend. But hey, no expectations. My goal is to start working towards 2026. For me, this is already a test; I'm not thinking about the results, I think it's a test. And happy, like I said, and grateful to be here and to be back.

As a reminder, between Thailand and Qatar, Jorge Martín missed three races to recover from injuries sustained during winter testing and a crash in preseason training. Then, his crash at Losail forced him to withdraw from seven more rounds. He made a comeback at the Czech Grand Prix before competing in five races until his injury in Japan. His best result this season remains fourth place at Balaton Park during the Hungarian Grand Prix.

While Marc Márquez – injured in Indonesia – has already announced his withdrawal from the season, Maverick Vinales is also back on track at home for the Valencia GP.
