It is now official, Takaaki Nakagami will not be Johann Zarco's teammate in 2025. His team, Idemistu Honda LCR, has announced the departure of the Japanese at the end of the season this Thursday.
After seven seasons of dedication, the pilot would have decided to start a new chapter in his career, while keeping one foot in the MotoGP. He will in fact be the brand's development pilot from the next campaign. A role that Aleix Espargaro will also occupy.

One announcement led to another, as a few minutes later, the team made official the signing of Somkiat Chantra, current rider in the Moto2 World Championship. While the rumor was gaining credibility in recent weeks, we now know that the Thai will occupy the second seat of the Honda satellite team next year.

This promotion also means that Pramac Racing – the future Yamaha team – is the only structure on the grid not to have yet announced a rider for the next MotoGP season.
