It was in Madrid, on the sidelines of an event dedicated to its sponsor Estrella Galicia 0,0, that the official website of MotoGP Marc Márquez has reunited. The MotoGP world champion will not be on track in Valencia this weekend, nor on Tuesday during the post-season test, but he will pay a visit to his fellow riders.
"I think I'll arrive in Valencia on Friday, because I need to respect the timing of my recovery. I'll do rehabilitation sessions on Friday morning, before leaving for Valencia, to celebrate the title with the fans, and then at the gala."
The rider of the Ducati No. 93, who will again be replaced by Nicolò Bulega this weekend in Valencia, also gave news of his right clavicle injury, which has kept him away from the circuits since the Indonesian Grand Prix.
“I’m getting better every day. Today is the first time I’ve been able to move around with my arm completely free! That’s very important; it means my doctor’s appointment yesterday went well, that the bone is healing properly, and the ligaments too. I’m still waiting a little longer; I’m being more patient than usual because my past experiences tell me I need to respect my body a bit more. I need to prepare well all winter for next season.”
Absent this weekend, Marc Márquez will therefore be unable to ride the 2026 version of the Ducati, which will make its first laps next Tuesday in Valencia. This doesn't worry him, however, even though he knows he will have to wait until the beginning of 2026 to truly begin his preparations for a title defense season, his first since 2020.
“It’s not the best way to celebrate a title and end a season, missing the last four weekends due to injury. The Valencia test was also important because we had a very specific plan with Ducati to test things for next season. That won’t be possible, but we have good riders at Ducati, like Pecco Bagnaia and Álex Márquez, who is the best Ducati rider at the moment. They have enough experience to develop the bike in the right direction, and I’ll take advantage of my first opportunity in Malaysia.”
