The curse continues for Marc Márquez in Indonesia: since 2022, the Spaniard has never managed to finish a race on the Mandalika circuit.
Starting ninth at the start of the Indonesian Grand Prix, Marc Márquez crashed on the first lap, at the sixth corner after being hit by Marco Bezzecchi, who was trying to overtake him. In the gravel trap, the nine-time world champion holds his arm and asks for help removing his left glove and helmet, touched the right collarbone.
« Fortunately, the injury is not serious, but it is important to respect the recovery time, explains the Ducati rider. My goal is to be back before the end of the season, but without rushing things beyond the doctors' recommendations. My personal and team goals have been achieved, so now the priority is to recover well and return to 100%. »

Forced rest for Marc Márquez
Marc Márquez immediately returned to his home country for treatment at the Ruber International Hospital in Madrid. The medical team detected a " fracture at the base of the coracoid process and a ligament injury to the right shoulder." The caregivers therefore opted for " rest and immobilization of the affected shoulder until complete healing " explains the press release from the Ducati team.
Weekly checks will be carried out to monitor the recovery of the No. 93 driver and to decide whether he will return to the championship. More cautious than he has been in the past, Marc Márquez will therefore not participate in the Australian Grand Prix from October 17 to 19, nor in the Malaysian Grand Prix from October 24 to 26.
