These comments confirm that Augusto Fernandez's interim term seems set to continue. A young retiree from MotoGP, the former Tech3 driver was called up at short notice to replace Oliveira at Pramac for the Grand Prix of the Americas. The Spaniard could benefit from a starting place on the grid at his home GP.
This would be the second driver withdrawal from the Spanish Grand Prix, with Jorge Martín announcing his withdrawal from the event earlier in the week.
Miguel Oliveira has already missed twelve Grands Prix since 2023 due to injuries, so he naturally hopes to turn the page on this recurring misfortune, to quickly return to competition with Pramac Racing.
