Halfway through the season, the championship MotoGP 2025 offers two faces when analyzing the results: that of the official classification combining the points of the main races and the Sprints, and another, more classic reading, taking into account only the main races held on Sunday.

The undisputed leader remains Marc Marquez. He holds 240 points based on the main races alone, reinforcing the status quo, but this lead is significantly reduced compared to the overall standings including the Sprints. The Spaniard has, in fact, won no fewer than 11 of them this season, collecting a total of 141 of the 144 points available on Saturday.

Alex Marquez, second, and Francesco Bagnaia, third, are therefore much closer to the leader in Sunday's race standings. Marc Marquez's crashes in Austin (United States) and Jerez (Spain) partly explain this.

As a reminder, the Sprint format was introduced at the start of the 2023 season, and features 12 additional points each weekend, with the total awarded to the winner of the event. Unlike Sunday, where the top 15 finishers are rewarded, points are awarded to the top nine on Saturday.

There was a small mistake, Bezzecchi is no longer at VR46 but at Aprilia 😉
