The 2026 World Championship season MotoGP MotoGP 26 now has its virtual counterpart. The game will be released on April 29th on all consoles. This edition will bring major changes to the franchise, with completely revamped riding physics and enhanced immersion in paddock life.

Indeed, the Italian studio Milestone has thoroughly reworked its game. Motorcycle handling and rider-machine weight distribution have been improved to offer better stability at lean angles and increased control during acceleration. Rider movements, unchanged for several editions, have been completely revamped – animations, weight transfers, trajectory corrections mid-corner – for a more convincing and realistic riding experience.

Career mode is evolving

The heart of the game remains the paddock, redesigned for a more narrative-driven immersion. The Career mode puts the player in an environment inspired by Grand Prix weekends: press conferences, discussions with engineers, and strategic decisions to be made with their agent to guide their career, just as the paddock drivers do when finalizing their contracts for 2027.

Public statements now carry real weight: provoking a rival or renewing the team's confidence will directly influence assigned objectives and areas of technical development. The transfer market is also becoming more complex, allowing players to negotiate their opportunities with greater realism and consistency.

What's new in MotoGP 26?

MotoGP 26 also expands its relaxation areas for riders to unwind between races. Following the previously introduced Tuscan and Alpine landscapes, a brand-new Canterbury Park has been added, dedicated to other disciplines such as flat track and minibike racing. Another major new feature: it will finally be possible to ride production motorcycles.

The dynamic rider rating system will be linked to the real MotoGP season: rider statistics will evolve throughout the championship. In parallel, the game introduces a system of collectible cards, with varying levels of rarity, illustrated by Japanese artist Ranka Fujiwara, a specialist in the MotoGP universe.

On the multiplayer side, the promise is clear: large-scale spectacle. Thanks to cross-play and improved matchmaking, up to 22 players can compete simultaneously. However, Switch and Switch 2 users will have to make do with grids limited to 12 drivers, without cross-platform play. The creation tools also make a return, offering the ability to design and share liveries and helmets within the community.
