Free Practice 2:
- Even before the start of Free Practice 2, the Aprilia clan announced some bad news. After crashing in Free Practice 1 yesterday, Trackhouse Racing rider Ai Ogura has had to withdraw from the rest of the weekend. The Japanese rider has suffered a fractured tibia.
- At the start of the session, Alex Marquez crashed and his machine remained stationary near the main line, forcing the stewards to wave the red flags for a brief interruption. At that point, Pecco Bagnaia held the lead of the session.
- Shortly after the restart, it was Pedro Acosta's turn to lose control of his machine at turn 7. This time, the Spaniard's KTM did not hinder the other riders.
- At the end of the session, the Marquez brothers seemed to be heading towards another double. However, fabio quartararo slams a lap in 1:59.032 at the very end of the session, to beat the two Spaniards by a handful of hundredths. The other Frenchman on the grid MotoGP, Johann Zarco, completed Free Practice 2 in 13th position.

The results of the Qualifications:
Qualification 1:
- The two available places for Q2 were expected to be tight, and the start of Q1 confirmed this hypothesis. After the first attempts, Pedro Acosta and Joan Mir lead the standings, but the top five, completed by Raul Fernandez, Franco Morbidelli and Luca Marini, are within 5 tenths of each other.
- And the improvement was drastic in each rider's second attempt. After just a few minutes, KTM found itself ejected from the top five, while Honda took the lead.
- Before the checkered flag, Luca Marini and Franco Morbidelli were the best. Joan Mir, however, had a chance to give Honda a one-two in Q1. The 2020 world champion missed out by two hundredths of a second.
- Maverick Viñales' qualification is disappointing when you look at his recent results. The Spaniard will start both races this weekend in 18th position, behind his teammate, Enea Bastianini.
Qualification 2:
- Although the two Yamahas of Alex Rins and Fabio Quartararo took the lead at the start of Q2, it was only after the Marquez brothers set their first lap times. Following closely behind each other for the entire lap, with Marc behind Alex, they moved to the top of the timesheets until Pecco Bagnaia claimed second place, ahead of the younger brother.
- The 2021 world champion, however, hasn't said his last word, and before everyone returns to the pits, he sets a promising lap, which puts him ahead of Bagnaia.
- The scenario of Jerez and Le Mans seems to be repeating itself as the drivers head out for the last time this Saturday morning to attempt a final assault on the Silverstone circuit. Pecco Bagnaia is the first to cross the start/finish line for the last time. The Italian thus takes provisional pole position for a few seconds, before Alex Marquez dislodges him from first place.
- As the saying goes, never two without three, it was Fabio Quartararo who, launched into an exceptional lap, came to snatch a third consecutive pole by destroying the lap record.
- Behind him, Johann Zarco lost control, causing yellow flags to come out. Marc Marquez was unable to improve and remained fourth. The other Frenchman found himself ninth on the grid.
- Fabio Quartararo will attempt to defend his pole position for the first time in the MotoGP British GP Sprint, which will start at 17:00 PM this Saturday.
