Marc Márquez's 2025 season will be remembered for more than one reason. Eleven victories, fifteen podium finishes—the numbers speak for themselves. The Spaniard's world championship title also allowed him to join a very exclusive club: that of riders who have won titles with multiple manufacturers. Before him, only five had achieved this feat. Here's a look at these multiple world champions on different motorcycle brands.
At the world championship level, Geoff Duke was the first rider to win titles on different machines, Norton and Gilera. He was immediately followed by the Italian legend, Giacomo Agostini, who triumphed with both MV Agusta and Yamaha, for whom he rode to his title in 1975. Then came Eddie Lawson's exploits, crowned consecutively in 1988 and 1989 with Yamaha and Honda.
Since the beginning of the era MotoGPThree of them did it. The first of them was none other than Valentino RossiFrom 2001 to 2003, 'The Doctor' won three consecutive MotoGP titles with Honda. He then made the surprising choice to join Yamaha in 2004, finding immediate success. In 2004 and 2005, he secured two titles for the Iwata factory.
After him, Casey Stoner was crowned champion in 2007 with Ducati, before moving to Honda, and taking the world crown in 2011. For Márquez, it was the reverse path.
In 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, Marc Márquez dominated his rivals in the World Championship, propelled by a dominant RC213v. But following an injury and Honda's decline, he had to make a choice. Relaunching his career with Ducati, on the Desmosedici GP, proved to be a perfect match.
At Gresini, the champion was reborn. He quickly secured his first Grand Prix victory in 1,043 days, wearing Gresini's blue livery at the 2024 Aragon Grand Prix. The following year, indomitable in the red colors of the manufacturer's official team, he clinched the title in Japan with five Grands Prix still to go. Today, in addition to this impressive statistic, Marc Márquez will be the rider to beat in 2026.

If he were to switch brands again with a title already secured, he would find himself alone with three different engine manufacturers. Unthinkable!
