Despite his disqualification, Maverick Vinales is looking forward to 'what's to come' for KTM

The big price MotoGP Qatar 2025 was a mixture of satisfaction and disappointment for Maverick Viñales. Initially ranked second behind Marc Marquez, the Spaniard saw his podium finish revoked due to a 16-second penalty for improper front tire pressure.

Despite this penalty, the Spanish rider remains optimistic, as for the first time this season his RC16 was in a position to challenge for victory. The KTM rider expressed his gratitude to his team after the race.

“Well guys, it’s good to be back, he confided after the Qatar GP. I feel like we were on the right track from the start, staying calm and believing in ourselves. It showed in our results. I felt really good when I was leading the race. I kept telling myself to keep pushing and maintain a good pace.

This surprise arrival at the front of the pack is a sign for Maverick Vinales of clear progress for KTM. It's enough to fuel motivation in the midst of a difficult phase for the brand.

“I know what I’m capable of, so we just have to stay focused, patient and keep doing the work, He continues. What matters most to me is the performance we showed. We fought against incredible riders and bikes. We believe in our project, in KTM and in the work we are doing."

Having led for a good part of the race, Vinales had a momentary belief in victory. He would have thus secured a victory for a fourth different manufacturer in MotoGP. While this historic feat has yet to be achieved, this Sunday's result has the air of a victory in the eyes of the main interested party. Despite losing second place, I feel like it's a victory, and we'll always celebrate like that. Thank you always for your support."
